In 1964, at 1:35pm ET, 10,000 screaming fans welcomed the Beatles upon their arrival at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport as the "Fab Four" began their first U.S. tour and for their first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" two days later. The police are overwhelmed by the fans and are paralyized for hours. Fans surround the Plaza Hotel, where the Beatles are staying. The 'Fab Four' controlled the top spot on the pop music charts for the next 15 weeks and owned the top of the album charts for 10 weeks. "Meet The Beatles", indeed!
